Notes
The jacquemart scene depicts a dapper knight is looking across the dial to a young lady of the court, most likely one to whom he has romantic interests. The gallant gentleman proudly poses in full uniform, visor up to inspect his fair lady. She is stood to the right of the dial, looking out to the viewer with a floral display held in her left arm and crown adorned with an extravagant headdress to woo the young man. Blushing roses are strewn about their feet as they strike the bells at twelve o’clock.
